Hi Keith, I have been flying on Southwest and the rest for the past year with my big Think Tank bag weighing somewhere between 40 and 50 pounds and never been hassled. If you do get hassled, it would likely be by a gate agent not the TSA. The TSA folks were especially nice to me on my flight home, perhaps because they have been having a bad week. And most times I am wearing my vest; no problems there either.

Artie, I'll be coming to Ft.Meyers/Sanibel in about three weeks, 1DM3 and 500 etc. in my LowePro - and on Southwest. Did TSA have any special concerns this trip about your carry-on gear?

Hi,
You've made a small mistake with the labelling of the last photo. It is, as I'm sure you know, a Surf Scoter.
Best wishes for 2010.
