First Glitch ... And More ...

First Glitch …

After a great 203 keeper day with the Inca Terns, Kelp Gulls, and Peruvian Pelicans yesterday, we flew from Santiago, Chile to Punta Arenas only to learn that the once a week Saturday flight to Stanley in The Falklands was cancelled due to high winds. Latam told everyone that they needed to fly back to Santiago, stay in a hotel at their cost, and fly back tomorrow. Never mind. We were able to grab our bags and are now having lunch in the very nice Los Navigantes Hotel in Punta Arenas. We are hoping that the flight to Stanley goes tomorrow …

Second Glitch

At best, I have misplaced my Southwest credit card. I paid for lunch with it in Vina del Mar yesterday but it was not in my wallet when we got to Punta Arenas. I am hoping that it might be in the pocket of the pants that I wore yesterday. But they are in the bag that I left in the Holiday Inn Santiago Airport … I am still up in the air on what to do. Suggestions welcome.

Call the bank that issued the card. See if they can fedex a new one to you, or to your next hotel OR can a corresponding bank where you are issue the card to you there.

  • It is God’s law that something will go wrong on long trip away from home.

Thanks all. By asking for a supervisor, I was able to have a hold placed on the card until 28 DEC. There have been no charges on it since lunch on Friday …

  • I have a southwest card and they have overnights mine to me when it was stollen and misplaced. Multiple times for me. Good luck.

You can freeze some credit cards via their app on your phone; then if you locate it later, you can unfreeze it by the same method. I know that Bank of America does this for my airline branded card.

    What Jerry Murray said.

Call the bank that issues the SW credit card and ask if they can Fedex you a new one overnight. If it’s a big bank like citi or Bank of America they should be able to do it.

Artie, if you have a second credit card on you, then call and cancel the Southwest card to be on the safe side.
