I agree that renaming inside of LR is a pain.  However, it is pretty easy to move folders outside LR and then reconnect them.   I&#039;ve done that at times.  It is really not restrictive at all; it is just a bit more automated inside LR.  I&#039;ve reassigned the drive letter (in Windows) and then reconnected.  It  is  fast and easy.  There should not be any &quot;lost effort&quot;.]]></description>

Ken, can I suggest you set your previews in import to minimal - that brings them in much faster. Also, with the latest versions of OS (particularly Yosemite), and the greater Lightroom requirement, you do need more than 8GB. I have 20GB.]]></description>
