F stops are related by the square. i.e. F56. Allows twice the light as f8. Square 5.6=31.36, square 8=64. 64/31.36 =2.04 close enough to 2.

Take 2500*8^2=160,000

6400*10^2=640,000

^ is the symbol for square

Divide 640,000/160,000= 4

So 4 stops
