This is such a close call that the guy holding the camera is much more of a factor than the camera itself.... I'd take the 1D IV for ruggedness and feel and high ISO noise control. The 7D II for its reach and a slight AF edge. Image quality about equal at ISO 400. Used 1D IVs have come down so much that they represent a great value. artie

Hi Artie

Once again, one amazing photo! And great to see one taken with a 1D4 again!
At the moment, i'm having a hard time deciding if i should sell my 1D4 to buy a 7D2. It doesn't feel as rugged and professional as the 1D, but the technology inside should be better i guess.
So, do you think the 7D2 (in good light conditions) can shoot images that look as good as the ones from the 1D4? I also have a 5D3 for ultimate image quality, but i need another fast body with great image quality, high resolution and some crop.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best wishes from switzerland
