Thanks Christian, good to know. I have some Lenscoat protection on it already. I might look into the Lenscoat pouch for future travel.

Though I have a Khumbu version of the vest that can, the Magnum version cannot hold the 600, so I was carrying the 600 with the strap on my shoulder. Bodies, smaller lenses and other accessories were put in the vest pockets. Note that the problem wasn’t the weight of the bag but the concern that it wouldn’t fit the overhead compartments.
I wasn’t overly concerned for my lens as it is anyway protected with a lenscoat and during travel another thicker lenscoat pouch and lenscoat cap.
I suppose that you could do the same with the 2-4 which is anyway smaller than the 600.
