Even before I scrolled down to the section, “The Image Optimization,” I could already tell what you changed. When you ask these types of questions on the blog, and before I went on the Nickerson IPT, I would not have been able to spot all of the little changes.

Perhaps the obvious color cast changes and maybe a spot on the leaf here or there, but you removed an entire chick and some very small grains of sand.

Thanks. I did not realize that the blob behind the little beach plant was an out-of-focus chick. But I did know that I hated it 🙂

Would I ever optimize an image this much? The answer is I don’t know. The fact is, if I wanted to, I learned about the tools and techniques to make it happen. Now I just need to practice.

I forgot to add how much I like the image. Yes, hope our paths cross again, thanks. My PhD is in evolutionary biology and I have studied fish since childhood.
