Dear Artie, about your zoom out technique, the old yashica film camera (don't know the model) had a "trap focus" feature similar to this, when the subject motion was detected in the frame, the shutter would actuate. I used this feature once, i focused the camera on an eagle nest and hoped the camera would capture the mama bird when she returned to feed the babies, when i returned an hour later, i was excited to find the whole roll of film was exposed. When i got the roll developed, all the frames were of only the nest, a branch had blown in the frame and the camera, not being able to differentiate between a bird and a branch, the camera recorded the moving of the branch. In those days an expensive mistake, thought you could use a good laugh today, Marge
