Sounds like there is progress in the ILE electric power front. Hope it gets restored soon.
After Mt Pinatubo's eruption in 1991, we were without power for 4-6 weeks, depending on where you were on the base (Subic Bay / Cubi Point). Ash on the insulators caused the protections circuitry for the transmission / distribution lines to turn them off. For the most part the lines were up and the generations systems were good but it took guys with towels and fresh water working from bucket trucks to clean all the insulators off to eliminate the arc tracing and get it back on line. Frustrating and slow. Philippines in June and July can be as hot as FL, and just as humid. Not fun. And I stayed so busy I never took pictures of the event. A link to a USGS sheet on Pinatubo: https://pubs.usgs.gov/fs/1997/fs114-97/
As Ol' Bill used to say, "I can feel your pain".
We are still seeing a bit of low lying smoke from some of the forest fires in the area south of us. Not as trying as FL and TX, but a reminder that we are not immune from some form of disaster up here, but we do not get hurricane type storms (47.5 degrees N).
Take care, and all the best.
