Hi Artie,
I became addicted to the wonder of birds at age 10 and have never lost my passion. I had a very successful 30 year career as ornithologist/physiologist/toxicologist with the Canadian Wildlife Service, during which I became deeply concerned about conservation and where we are taking this beautiful planet. I had only dabbled in photography until my retirement 15 years ago, but now bird and nature photography is my daily passion. My images have been used in regional bird atlases and a conservation magazine. I have a website, but struggle to keep it up. I recently bought a printer and hope to produce some prints for friends and family. I find great satisfaction in creating photo books for my little grandchildren using my nature images to aid in their learning the alphabet, to count etc and am about to write a book for them about my trip to the Falklands. Each is peppered with conservation messages. I am also working on some coffee table books for family. Today's cameras and lenses allow us to capture wonderfully detailed images that feed my passion about the wonder that is a bird, and that fill my hard disk.

I mostly consider my self a beginner. Photography for me is more of Joy along with bird watching. As I do have a full time job, I do not have leisure of try to sell my images (which are not yet to the level I love them to be anyways), To this date I sold 2 coffee mugs to my friends in office who work with me. I love photography, whether I make money or not is secondary at this point of time. I have a website where I do post my best images and I regularly post in facebook.
