I weighed the Canon 5d Mk iv with the Canon 100-400 against the Sony A9 with the Sony 100-400 lens. The Sony was 680 gm lighter – about 1.5 lbs – and was an important indicator in my decision to switch. At 73 weight is important and I can walk around hand held all day. For travel I use the Sony A6000 which is a remarkable little camera.
