I just saw a tutorial by DanieljGregory.com (he has a newsletter) on using a copy stand, camera with a micro lens 100 or 60, and a light box with film holders to flatten the negatives or slides. Focus on the grain, use live view, nitrate gloves, film cleaner (guaranteed our old negatives will need it), emulsion (dull) side up, bubble level on camera, mirror up, F 11+ best, low iso, cable release, take a photo of a description of the roll and label it so you can find it again, shoot raw, Negative Lab Pro is a good plug in, Most of the equipment you probably have already! I'm feeling hopeful that I will actually do this. As Artie says, spend the time on the good ones, not everything!
