I actually agree with you about smoking. It's now known to be dangerous, but that wasn't always the case. I don't think anyone ever thought it was actually GOOD for you, but its deadly effects were not fully apparent until perhaps the mid-20th Century. (That's not to say that tobacco companies didn't do everything they could to obfuscate the issue.)

Having said that, smoking obviously offered, and continues to offer, various pleasurable effects to millions or billions of people. My dad smoked a pack a day for about 40 years. When I became old enough to understand, I always tried to get him to stop. It never worked, though. The thing that got him to quit was his first cancer diagnosis...

Thanks, Steve. I will do more maps whenever such situations arise. Basically I am always trying to move slowly and give the birds a wide berth while getting on sun angle and in position.

As for smoking, that is true for you and me, but for folks who smoke and those who love them, that would not be the case. In my Dad's defense, nothing was known about the connection between smoking and lung cancer back then ...

And believe it or not, I was once in love with a lady bird photographer who smoked like a fiend ...
