Heck, I am the king of clean, tight, and graphic. But there was no ignoring that beautiful stand of grasses and the still, still water. The trick to making panos is seeing them!

Yes and yes. Though I liked Bob&#039;s explanation a bit better than yours. You second point was quite excellent. And most often you do not need to drive up a hill to eliminate background junk. Sometimes getting just a few inches or a foot or two will do the trick.
