The wing shadow on the dorsal surface of the bird is less in the second image, the talons on the left foot are more visible, and the green (which is always a +) in the background is wider, more anchoring, and pleasing). Although, the first image projects more tension/movement, #2 gets my vote for the reasons previously raised as well as the factors I mentioned.
