This Pied Avocet image was created at Texel, Holland with the tripod-mounted Canon EF 600mm f\/4L IS II USM lens<\/a>, the Canon 1.4x EF Extender III (Teleconverter)<\/a>, and the Canon EOS-1D X Digital SLR camera<\/a>. ISO 1600. Evaluative metering +1 1\/3 stops as framed: 1\/200 sec. at f\/6.3 in Manual Mode. <\/p>\n

Here, I converted the image to Black and White using NiK SIlver Efex Pro’s High Structure pre-set. In addition, I eliminated some nasty dust spots that I missed the first time around and ran a heavy layer (6\/10) of Filter\/Blur\/Surface Blur and erased the effect on the bird using a Regular Layer Mask. <\/p>\n
