This image was created at Morro Bay (while standing) with the hand held Canon EF 100-400mm f\/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens<\/a>, the Canon Extender EF 1.4X III<\/a> (at 490mm), and the amazing Canon EOS 7D Mark II<\/a>. ISO 400: 1\/1600 sec. at f\/9 confirmed via histogram. <\/p>\n

Center AF point (by necessity)\/AI Servo Expand\/Shutter Button AF as framed was active at the moment of exposure (as is always best when hand holding). The center AF point was on the side of the bird’s breast well forward of the bend of the wing. Click on the image to see a larger version. <\/p>\n
