Well, nobody signed up for the Mini IPT. Yesterday, Monday, would have been Day 1. It turned out to be the best day of my trip so far. Where the lower shelf had been totally empty the day before, there were more than 100 pelicans packed onto just a small portion of the lower shelf. There were lots of chances for flight, and with so many birds so close together, lots of chances to isolate the subject, provided that you had the right rig in your hands. <\/p>\n

Sunset looked promising at first, but fizzled (just as I ran out of space on my card). It was a fitting end to a great day. <\/p>\n Today is Tuesday 25 January 2022. I used the hand held Sony FE 600mm f\/4 GM OSS lens<\/a> with the Sony FE 1.4x Teleconverter<\/a> (at 708mm) and The One, the Sony Alpha 1 Mirrorless digital camera. <\/a> ISO 640. Exposure determined via Zebras with ISO on the Thumb Wheel: RawDigger<\/a> showed that the raw file brightness was dead solid-perfect: 1\/640 sec. at f\/9 (wide open) in Manual mode. AWB at 9:14:17am on a clear sunny morning. <\/p>\n Tracking: Spot S\/AF-C with Bird-Eye\/Face Detection performed perfectly.
