Too many folks attending IPTs and dozens of the folks whom I see in the field, and on BPN, are–out of ignorance–using the wrong gear, especially when it comes to tripods and more especially, tripod heads… Please know that I am always glad to answer your gear questions via e-mail.
Download DPP 4.5.0.0 for Mac for Canon EOS 5D Mark IV RAW Files
Not wanting to have to dig up the CD drive for my Macbook Pro I did a search on line for the latest version of Canon Digital Photo Professional. I found a You Tube video by Cherry Wong Photo an bingo, in the text below the video I found the link for DPP 4.5.0.0. If you would like to download it you can click here. You will need to enter your 5D IV serial number. Downloading and installing took only minutes.
Important DPP 4.5.0.0 Note
DPP 4.5.0.0 can be found on the a CD that came in the box with your 5D Mark IV. For folks without an internal or external CD drive/reader (like me and Cherry Wong) this can be a hassle.

Typos
In all blog posts and Bulletins, feel free to e-mail or to leave a comment regarding any typos or errors. Just be right 🙂
I should add that the list of software includes the option to download the *entire* EOS Digital Solution Disk Software package that has all the latest software (includes the latest DPP). It’s much better than downloading all the components individually. Of course, if you use only DPP, then download only that; don’t bother with the entire package.
Those with currently-shipping Canon EOS models can also get the DPP update.
1. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support
2. Type in the name of your camera model, such as “EOS 7D Mark II”
3. Wait a few seconds, then select that model from the list that pops up (if it doesn’t show up, you typed it incorrectly, try again; or perhaps your camera model isn’t supported any more)
4. Look at “Drivers & Downloads”, select Software (later go back & check your Firmware version).
5. It detects your operating system and lists it. If incorrect, use the popup menu to select the correct one.
6. Select DPP 4.5.0, agree to terms, click the Download button.
7. Enter the serial number of your camera body, the download begins. Viola!

Canon updates direct from Canon for Windows and Mac. You need a serial number from camera or maybe a lens.
This just worked for me with a new 5dmk4 serial number.
